Michael Shank Racing Upbeat About Their Chances At The GRAND-AM Rolex Race Car Series Event At Mid-Ohio

With the second leg of the GRAND-AM Rolex Race Car Series just around the corner, teams have begun testing their machines in order to smoothen out odd niggles and worries. Michael Shank Racing is one of those who are waiting for the start of the second leg in order to test their new machine.

The team suffered a big blow at the recently concluded Watkins Glen event when their No. 6 Ford/Riley was engulfed in flames at the end of the day’s racing. The freak fire accident damaged the car making if unfit for the Mid-Ohio race. The new car was put to the test on Putman Park with satisfactory results.

SpeedSource To Opt for New Pit Strategy In The Second Round Of The GRAND-AM Rolex Car Series

The second round of this year’s GRAND-AM Rolex Car Series, kick-starts with the EMCO Gears Classic presented by KeyBank at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The 2 hour, 45 minutes race will showcase new race strategies, as teams joust with each other to get an advantage.

The SpeedSource Racing Team will unveil a new pit strategy at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. According to this strategy, each of its three cars would have its own team and a dedicated manager looking after the well being of the machines. Accordingly the No. 70 Castrol Syntec Mazda RX-8 will be supervised by David Haskell, Gerry Green will call the shots for the No.69 FXDD, and Marcus Shen will manage the No.68 MazdaSpeed. Each car will have a separate pit location for practice, qualification and racing unlike other teams which prefer to have one centralized pit location for their racing machines.

The Number One Rolex Ranking Up For Grabs At The 35th State Farm Classic

The number one position in the Rolex Rankings is up for grabs as LPGA tour heads to the Panther Creek Country Club where the 35th State Farm Classic will be held. Currently the number one position is held by the straight hitting South Korean, Jiyai Shin who took over the number one Rolex Ranking from Lorena Ochoa on May 3, 2010. The LPGA State Farm Classic will feature some of the best players on the circuit including world number two Ai Miyazato of Japan and Taiwan’s Yani Tseng.

The 35th annual LPGA State Farm Classic has become a permanent fixture on the LPGA tour. The venue has been favored by many golfing celebrities like Sorenstam, Lopez, Carner, King, Jones and Daniel to name a few. The $1.7 million tournament moved to the Panther Course four years ago after 31 years of successfuly hosting at the Rail Golf course.

All Eyes On Magnus Racing After A Stirring Performance At The Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Event At Watkins Glen

Like all the other teams in its class, Magnus Racing is feeling the heat generated by three back to back GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car events held over the last three week period. The team has high hopes pinned on the No. 44 Magnus Racing Porsche 911 GT3, driven by Craig Stanton.

The team has made preparations for the Mid-Ohio Car Race Course event that follows closely at the heels of the Lime Rock Event and the Watkins Glen event. The No. 44 Magnus Racing Porsche 911 GT3 had set the tracks ablaze at Watkins Glen, where it had set a new record with Craig Stanton behind the wheel. Brumos Racing Will Race In Its 100th Daytona Prototype Race In The GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series

The Brumos Racing Team will become the first team to complete 100 races in the Daytona Prototype class in the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series beginning in Brumos Porsche 250. The team has participated in each and every race since 2003 when the Daytona Prototype debuted in the Rolex Sports Car Series. It is a proud moment for the team because the Brumos Racing team was instrumental in bringing the changes. The Brumos Racing drivers, comprising of Darren Law and David Donahue have raced in each of the races since that day. Darren Law, however, became a full time driver only in the 2004 season, after driving only occasionally in the 2003 season.

Brumos Racing Hopes For A Podium Finish At The GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Cars Series In Mid-Ohio

Brumos Racing hopes to consolidate its third position with a good finish at the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series in Mid-Ohio. The team is looking forward to continue its run of good results at the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series, where it has gathered four top-five-finishes in the first half of the tour. The second half of the tour, beginning with the Mid-Ohio event, is expected to generate plenty of heat with teams competing with each other in order to consolidate their position. The series has already witnessed plenty of drama, competition and a number of close finishes and it is anybody’s guess what the second half has in store for spectators. Suntrust Racing Team Eyes The GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series Event In Mid-Ohio

The second half of the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series is scheduled to move to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car course, where the No.10 SunTrust Racing Ford Dallara will try to build on its number two position.

The No.10 SunTrust Ford Dallara racing team consists of Max Angelelli from Italy and co-driver Ricky Taylor from Great Britain, with both pinning high hopes from the racing event to be held at Mid-Ohio. The team, owned by three times champion Wayne Taylor, hopes to continue its golden run at the championship, which has witnesses the team finish on the podium three times in a row. The SunTrust team is a healthy 13 points ahead of the team on the third place; however it trails its leaders, No.10 Chip Ganassi Racing, by a massive 24 point margin.
